a) What is faith?
Faith is the virtue by which we firmly believe in God and all the truths he has revealed, and apply them into our lives. For this, we need to enter into a personal relationship with God, who is the source of all truth, and learn the teachings of the Church, which he founded to guide us.
When we receive the gift of faith, we should strengthen it by studying the reasons for God’s teachings — even though we will never fully understand the mysteries. Faith does not depend on our feelings, but on God’s grace and our correspondence to it.
b) Why should Altar Servers live the virtue of faith?
Through our faith, we also get to know God’s will for each one of us. Our response to faith and God’s will is seen in our deeds, as we become closer to him and to others.
We share the gift of faith to others first of all by becoming their friends, praying and offering sacrifices for them. This way they will be more ready to receive God’s revelation when we explain it to them.
