Ordained in 1993 by St. John Paul II for the Archdiocese of Manila, Fr. Greg serves as Rector of the Pontificio Collegio Filippino, the residence in Rome for Filipino priests’ ongoing formation with further studies.
A native of Silay City, he studied Zoology and two years of Medicine proper (University of the Philippines), Philosophy and Theology (Universidad de Navarra), Licentiate and Doctorate in Sacred Theology (Università Pontificia San Tommaso, Rome), Doctorate in Communication (UP), and a post-graduate fellowship in Biomedical Ethics (National Catholic Bioethics Center, Boston).
Fr. Greg has taught theology, bioethics, and pastoral formation at institutions including Seminaries (Makati, Malolos and Lucena), Universities (Santo Tomas and Ateneo de Manila) and hospital bioethics committees (Makati Medical Center and Cardinal Santos). He served at the Vatican’s Pontifical Council for the Family (2002–2007), coordinates Filipino chaplains in Italy, serves as Vatican correspondent for Radyo Veritas Manila, helps in the Center for Priestly Formation of the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross in Rome, and explores the use of AI in priestly ministry.
