a) What is friendship?
Friendship is the mutual affection that exists between persons who care for each other.
Friendship has God’s love as its origin. Friends share their joys and sorrows. They develop similar interests, and in spite of their differences, they treasure each other’s company. The best way to become happy is by making others happy.
b) Why should Altar Servers be friendly?
When we care for others and are their friends, we actually become Jesus’ instruments to show them his love.
It is easier to help others when they are our friends, since they already trust us and are sure that we only wish to serve them.
At times some persons might misunderstand us and reject our friendship. In this case, we should pray and offer sacrifices for them. If we continue to be very open and kind to them, they might later on be among our best friends.
