a) What is order?
Order is the arrangement of things following a certain method. We can have order in our things, actions, thoughts, work, study, and schedule.
Order in little things will lead us to be orderly in greater ones. Examples of order are arranging our room, punctuality in appointments, starting work promptly, studying our lessons systematically, rising and praying the Morning Offering immediately when it is time to wake up (the “heroic minute”), and resisting laziness.
b) Why should Altar Servers live the virtue of order?
Only through order can we properly undertake and complete any task whatsoever, whether in our spiritual life or in worldly activities. This means serving God sooner, more and better. Besides, others easily see if we live this virtue, and could be edified—or discouraged—by our example.
Order in our relationship with God will result in a more orderly relationship with others. An Altar Server should give priority to his daily prayers, receiving the sacraments and studying God’s teachings through the Church’s guidance.
