a) What is the Tenth Commandment of God?
The Tenth Commandment of God is: You shall not covet your neighbor’s goods.
We should be happy with what we have or with what we can honestly acquire. We should also be pleased when others have the things they need. Thus, we should not desire to take or keep what belongs to others without their permission, or envy their success.
b) Why should an Altar Server know and live the Tenth Commandment?
An Altar Server should be hardworking and try to succeed in his endeavors. Humility and trust in God’s loving providence will help him to avoid sadness in case he lacks some things or is unable to reach some of his goals, knowing that he does everything not for himself but for God.
An Altar Server should also help his friends in their studies and other activities, so that they, too, could succeed in life and serve God in the Church and in society.
