a) How did God create the world?
God, who is all-powerful, created all things out of nothing. Since God is infinitely good, the world is also good. Man should live in this world knowing that it is God’s gift to him.
All things need God and each other. No creature can ever stand alone. God has designated man steward of his creation, to care for it and exercise dominion over it.
b) Why should an Altar Server understand that God created the world?
An Altar Server should always discover God’s presence reflected in the world’s beauty and wonders. Nature itself is not God, but should lead us to appreciate, understand, and experience God’s love and power more each day. By using our belongings properly, repairing damaged objects, helping conserve the environment, and not being wasteful, we participate in God’s work of creation and providence, and contribute to the betterment of the world in our own little ways.
