3. God the Father.

a) Who is God the Father?

God is the Supreme Being, a pure and infinitely perfect spirit, the supreme master of heaven and earth. God is eternal, all-good, all-knowing, all-present, and almighty. There is only one God, and in God there are three divine Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. This is a mystery that God himself revealed to us, but which we cannot understand completely.

God the Father is the first Person of the Holy Trinity. He is the creator of all things, in heaven and on earth. After creating the world, God did not leave it alone as if he no longer cared for it, but continues to watch over it and guide it. This act of caring is called “divine providence”.

b) How does an Altar Server know, love, and serve God the Father in this world?

An Altar Server is truly God’s son, and prepares himself in this life to go to heaven to be with God his Father. By doing all things out of love for God, we become united to him even here on earth.

Through his daily prayers, the Altar Server builds his relationship with God the Father. He thanks him for the gift of creation and the gift of life, and for caring for us in our daily needs.
