a) What is catechesis?
Catechesis is a clear, complete, and concise exposition of the Catholic faith.
Through faith we learn many truths that we cannot know through other means, and understand better the realities that we live. By studying our faith, we enter into a more personal relationship with God, and accept his teachings more firmly.
b) Why is ongoing catechesis necessary for an Altar Server?
An Altar Server serves God by serving the Church. Religious instruction, or catechesis, will help him discover God’s will, so that he could carry out his duties well.
Only by knowing our faith well can we achieve a sincere and generous practice of our Christian life. And only this way can we also help our friends know more about our faith.
